85th meeting of the Executive Committee

- The Executive Committee held its 85th meeting on 13th March, 2025. The meeting took place in We had an in-person meeting in Seattle, with some participants joining online. with the following participants: Amrita Choudhury (Chair), Chris Mondini, Flavio Wagner, Amado Espinosa, Nigel Hickson (Treasurer), Markus Kummer, Wisdom Donkor, Fiona Asonga, and from the Secretariat team: Jennifer Chung. A quorum was established for the meeting, with seven of the nine Executive Committee members taking part.
- During the call, the agenda was reviewed. The draft agenda was presented and adopted.
- Adoption of the Summary record of the 2024 AGM, January & February Meeting update.\

- EC members were encouraged to review the summary of the last call and AGM discussions. Comments and feedback could be provided online.

- Funding Request and Disbursement Status – The pending fund requests discussed included:
- The 3rd Edition of the National Youth Internet Governance Forum in Benin, Tanzania Youth IGF, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) IGF, the IGF Cabo Verde, the Moldova Internet Governance Forum 2025 and the Internet Governance Forum in Côte d’Ivoire have been approved for an amount of $2000 with Wisdom needing to seek clarification from Nazar regarding Tanzania Youth IGF. The 10th Anniversary Meeting of the South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG 10) has been approved for a higher amount of $3000.
- Regarding NAIGF-25 and IGF Chad 2025, Wisdom needs to follow up. Amrita will speak with Jenifer Lopez about the Foro Panameño de Gobernanza de Internet Juvenil (Youth IGF Panamá). Fiona is to inquire about the Kenya Internet Governance Forum. Jen will review the previous funding levels for EuroDIG.
- Update on meeting with Chegetai
- Follow-up meeting in Geneva with the UN IGF Secretariat at MAG with three specific action items as follows
- Identify funding thresholds under which contributions to the IGF Trust Fund are not feasible, request inclusion of IGFSA in fundraising letters and recognition of IGFSA support on IGF website.
- The follow-up discussion will happen at ICANN 83.
- The IGFSA secretariat is to share the above-mentioned action items with Chengetai.
- Follow-up meeting in Geneva with the UN IGF Secretariat at MAG with three specific action items as follows
- Discussion on Sponsorship and Outreach plan for FY 2025
- There were updates on reaching out to Access Now, APC, and other civil society groups. Further follow-ups will be made to encourage their participation.
- The NRI campaign needs further discussion. Website update is pending, which is necessary before hiring interns. Once the website is updated, interns can assist with content and outreach.
- The committee discussed the need to engage larger sponsors, particularly within the domain name industry. They also considered reaching out to organizations like TWNIC, CIRA (Canada), and auDA (Australia) for potential sponsorships.
- Finance Update
- It was provided an update on finances, reporting a balance of $96,000 USD and 480 in Swiss accounts. No new grants or significant changes in the balance since the last meeting. An invoice for DotAsia was signed off.
- AOB
- A doodle poll will be sent for scheduling next calls in the mid-April and mid-May.
