90th meeting of the Executive Committee
9th September 2025
- The Executive Committee held its 90th meeting on 9th September, 2025. The meeting took place online. with the following participants: Amrita Choudhury (Chair), Amado Espinosa, Chris Mondini, Wisdom Donkor and Flavio Wagner and from the Secretariat team: Jennifer Chung and Phyo Thiri Lwin. A quorum was established for the meeting, with five out of the eight Executive Committee members taking part.
- During the call, the agenda was reviewed. The draft agenda was presented and adopted.
- The summary record from the August EC meeting was shared in advance. No comments or amendments were raised, and it was approved for posting.
- Funding Request and Disbursement Status – The pending fund requests discussed included:
- The Lusophone Internet Governance Forum was approved for support in the amount of USD 3,000.
- For the Youth IGF Colombia, clarification is required on whether funding from the IGF Colombia Secretariat already covers this request, so the decision is pending further information.
- The Youth IGF Nepal proposal and budget have been completed, and it was agreed to provide support of USD 1,500.
- The Armenian IGF was noted as having been well organized in the past, and it was agreed in principle to provide USD 2,000 in support.
- The Hong Kong Youth IGF, recognized as an independent initiative, had its budget reviewed and was approved for support of USD 1,500.
- The Youth India IGF was approved for support of USD 1,500.
- The Youth LAC IGF (Argentina), noted as independent from LACIGF, had its proposal and budget reviewed and was approved for support of USD 2,500.
- Plan for the Rest of the Year
- It was noted that preparations are underway for the upcoming face-to-face meeting in Dublin, with hybrid participation planned. The discussion on the UNESCO proposal will be led initially by Flavio Wagner and Amado Espinosa, who will engage in preliminary talks with UNESCO. UN IGF Secretariat will clarify expectations and the NRI’s capacity before a wider consultation takes place.

- An administrative update was provided regarding delays in signatory changes with the bank. The secretary will finalize the document signing with the accountant. The secretary’s upcoming participation in the ICANN webinar was noted. A reminder was given that EC member term updates will be circulated after the call.
